Professional helicopter pilot’s license
The fascination of controlling one of the world’s most unstable types of aircraft was enormous, so in 1996 – while 8 months pregnant – Bettina passed the practical test and obtained her professional helicopter pilot’s licence, giving enhanced scope to her passion for flying.
During 10 years she was qualified to fly the following types of helicopter:
B 407, AS 350 B2, B 206/206L, R22 – which means that a panorama flight withup to 6 passengers was no problem at all.
Pilot’s license for private planes
Bettina lives near Sion Airport, and it was almost a matter of course that, when she took her theoretical helicopter pilot’s test she also did the additional section for planes. After passing her practical test as a private plane pilot, she made a number of flights with a Robin DR 44 and Robin DR 400. But once she realized she did not have time to do everything, she decided not to renew her licence and to concentrate completely on flying paragliders and helicopters.
